Consulting by Instant Messaging

Prerequisites

To consult a member in the your contact list, initiate an IM consult.

You can initiate an IM consult with an incoming voice call. If the caller meets all the prerequisites for an IM interaction, the Add IM to work item icon appears enabled for the incoming call.

  1. From the Work Item control, click the Add IM to work item icon.

    The system initiates an IM interaction with the caller in a new IM window.

  2. Enter your message in the IM window text box and click Send.
